We almost considered getting rid of our pit Opie (who we recently took in) because he was completely out of control. With a little confidence in our pup and a lot of patience and work from everyone at Spot On, we now have one awesome family dog! I can’t thank them enough. Working with Mike and his crew to train Roxy, our one year old, 13 pound, rescue dog, my husband, my two granddaughters, ages 12 and 13, Roxy, and I had fun! We learned a lot while all of us, including Roxy, enjoyed the experience. By the end of the third lesson all of us knew how to help Roxy become the dog we want her to be without crushing her spirit or diminishing her playfulness. It is a relief and a joy to know that we now have the techniques which makes it possible for us to enjoy Roxy in more places and in more situations that we ever imagined we could.
First, I have never seen 5/5 with over 80 reviews! That says something. Mike is very responsive, and has dogs best interest in mind. I did not understand that the training was the base that this dog needed to be the best dog he can be. Now, I can tailor his behavior to the needs of our family and it literally takes seconds. Of course there is continuous training at home, but it is SIMPLE! Not only did he demonstrate that Ryder knew EVERY command, Mike also taught me exactly how to “work” him. Even better than THAT, he taught my children which, in my opinion was more important. This was the BEST decision I have made. Ryder will be boarding with Mike from now on as a way to sharpen his skills.

They are doing wonderfully, and little Chloe has taken to sitting at my side without calling her over- it’s her new default. All of the dogs seem happier and are certainly feeding off the increased confidence that training has provided. π In this clip one our trainers, Kenya, is working with 5 month old Sienna on learning a βdownβ. During training, we like to keep things fun for both the dogs and ourselves, incorporating games and different rewards. Here, you will see after Sienna performs a down correctly, Kenya throws a treat for her to chase and eat then recalls her using the βcomeβ command, and repeats the process for repetition. This is a fun game to play with your pup to tap into their prey drive, chasing and eating the treat, and to strengthen their recall. You can even add different variations such as making your pup wait to chase down the reward, adding different commands in before the reward, recalling before they get to the reward and so on. We almost considered getting rid of our pit Opie (who we recently took in) because he was completely out of control. With a little confidence in our pup and a lot of patience and work from everyone at Spot On, we now have one awesome family dog! I can’t thank them enough. Opie thanks them too as we are his third and now final home, he can be at ease knowing he’s not going anywhere else. he’s home. So thank you all at Spot On.
Working with Mike and his crew to train Roxy, our one year old, 13 pound, rescue dog, my husband, my two granddaughters, ages 12 and 13, Roxy, and I had fun! We learned a lot while all of us, including Roxy, enjoyed the experience. By the end of the third lesson all of us knew how to help Roxy become the dog we want her to be without crushing her spirit or diminishing her playfulness. It is a relief and a joy to know that we now have the techniques which makes it possible for us to enjoy Roxy in more places and in more situations that we ever imagined we could.
First, I have never seen 5/5 with over 80 reviews! That says something. Mike is very responsive, and has dogs best interest in mind. I did not understand that the training was the base that this dog needed to be the best dog he can be. Now, I can tailor his behavior to the needs of our family and it literally takes seconds. Of course there is continuous training at home, but it is SIMPLE! Not only did he demonstrate that Ryder knew EVERY command, Mike also taught me exactly how to “work” him. Even better than THAT, he taught my children which, in my opinion was more important. This was the BEST decision I have made. Ryder will be boarding with Mike from now on as a way to sharpen his skills.
Thank you for all the work you and Katie put into making our dogs even better! They are doing wonderfully, and little Chloe has taken to sitting at my side without calling her over- it’s her new default. All of the dogs seem happier and are certainly feeding off the increased confidence that training has provided. What a breeze it is to take them to the pet store, or let them out when the neighbor dogs are going nuts knowing that I still have control over my pack. Thank you! I highly recommend Spot On!
I have three Chi’s (Apollo, Harley and Oz) and we all went through training together. Mike made it easy to understand why we did the things we did. I understand my dogs better and them me. Thanks Mike for giving me well-mannered dogs. It’s hard work, practice every day and you’ll see the change right before your eyes! I have a much happier home now. Money well spent!

π In this clip one our trainers, Kenya, is working with 5 month old Sienna on learning a βdownβ. During training, we like to keep things fun for both the dogs and ourselves, incorporating games and different rewards. Here, you will see after Sienna performs a down correctly, Kenya throws a treat for her to chase and eat then recalls her using the βcomeβ command, and repeats the process for repetition. This is a fun game to play with your pup to tap into their prey drive, chasing and eating the treat, and to strengthen their recall. You can even add different variations such as making your pup wait to chase down the reward, adding different commands in before the reward, recalling before they get to the reward and so on. Make training fun and always remember to practice!! π
